The Vermont Ride Network (VRN) specializes in special education student transportation, and is currently the primary vendor for multiple school districts across the state. VRN has been operating since 2008 in Chittenden county and expanded its operations in 2016 to include Addison, Washington, Lamoille, Franklin and Grand Isle.
VRN employs veteran drivers who undergo rigorous background checks, who have received behavioral training, and have been trained in de-escalation techniques. The background checks that VRN perform include a national criminal registry check, national and state sex offender check, a VCIC check, and a fingerprint check with the Chittenden County Sheriff’s office. All drivers have clean driving records and are backed by a comprehensive commercial insurance policy.
VRN owns and operates late model, low mileage Toyota and Honda minivans that are visually inspected every week by an ASE certified garage technician. Regular fluid changes and preventative maintenance are performed in order to keep the vehicles running in as safe a manner as possible. Every vehicle contains a dashboard camera that records everything inside the cabin of the vehicle as well as out front of the vehicle. Every VRN vehicle is tracked in real time by GPS software that is overseen by dispatchers and an account manager.
In addition to providing transportation services to school districts, VRN provides Non-Emergency Medical Transportation for patients in Chittenden County and beyond. VRN regularly carries patients to their dialysis, physical therapy, and follow up appointments.
